Promise 23 Ranch Ministries provides a faith based, equine assisted therapy program, bringing God’s love and restoration to survivors of sexual exploitation as they grow in confidence, reach goals, and rebuild relationships. Promise 23 was founded in 2013 by Jennifer Teigrob. We believe that horses can connect with those that are hurting in a way that often people can’t, and we help facilitate that opportunity.
We have partnered with Engedi Refuge Ministries and love being a part of their program, offering equine assisted enrichment sessions. Our program ties together with the Engedi Phase 1 program, using horses to demonstrate and relate to a variety of topics taught in their curriculum. Horse handling skills and safety are taught, as well as life skills. The equine sessions provide a different setting for participants to engage with various parts of their healing journey.
Once a year, we take the Engedi residents and staff on a 4 day retreat to central WA. This is a beautiful time of hearing from encouraging speakers, riding through God’s glorious creation, crafts, boating, hiking and more. It is truly the highlight of our year – profoundly and positively impactful for all who attend.
Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch, in Bend, OR is an inspiration to our program. Promise 23 Ranch Ministries attends annual ministry conferences and pursues on-going mentoring/support from Crystal Peaks Youth Ranch.
